Off To Leonberg

We took the afternoon train from Switzerland to Stuttgart. Hobbit prefers the older First Class cars to the newer First Class cars, but she likes the Panoramic Train the best.

Hobbit Departing Switzerland

The Hospice du Grand St Bernard no longer uses dogs to find people in the snow so in the winter the dogs have nice accomodations in Martigny. This afternoon we went to see them. So we actually got to see the better half of the hospice. I'm sure the monks are nice, but the dogs are cuter.
My face totally hurts and the cold wind blowing on it makes it feel better until the wind stops. We were covered with dog hair but a storm was blowing in and blew the hair off of our clothes. We went to a pharmacy so I could ask (in French) Do you have a cream for my face? I don't know enough Frenck to specify what kind of cream but it must have been evident because the pharmacist (who is allowed to issue prescription medication without a doctor) hooked me up with some soothing sunburn cream. Looking like a toe-mah-toe head has it's advantages.
We are going to Stutguard today. We began our trip on the panoramic train. There was this group of local guys in the car that were cracking me up. They are all locals in their 60's and spoke french. They were totally yucking it up. As soon as the train started up the bread cheese and wine came out. They were clearly doing a get together and the panoramic train seemed like a fun way to do it. When the lady with the food and beverage cart came down the asile they got excited just like my goats when I come come up with a wagon load of hay. "Hay, it's the Food Lady!" "The Food Lady's here!!" "She's got FOOD!!!"
We went to Stuttguard and stayed in a hostel. We had chinese food because it was late and that was the only place open. Last night we had really good pasta. It doesn't matter what country we are in, you can always count on the Chinese to know English. They seem to enjoy practicing it with us.
We went to the Leonberger dog show in Leonberg and a lot of people practiced their English on us. Pretty good English too. Wendell got his dog fix.
I'm starting to run out of Swisse chocolate. :( This evening Wendell and I did our American no-no thing and had Cuban cigar (Wendell only), and Cuban rum.
