Where We Show Up At The Airport Early For Our Flight
TSA suggests arriving early for your flight. An unfortunate side-effect of adjusting my watch too many times for time zone changes is that I inadvertently set it forward a day - we arrived for our flight a day early. Hobbit was unamused (the trek to the airport took just over 90 minutes and involved carrying 200+ pounds of baggage about 1/2 mile, plus 3 different trains.) After a scramble for change to make a phone call, I called Hilary and explained our situation. She was most gracious and we got to stay another night at their place. Hobbit and I took a cab ($45) from the airport to their place and collapsed, exhausted.

Chris and Hillary are lovely. Especially lovely because Wendell took us to the airport on the wrong day. We didn’t just hop into a cab and go, we schlepped all of that heavy luggage on two subways and the sky tram then walked a long ways to the airport only to be told that we were there a day early and our tickets were restricted so they couldn’t put us on the flight for that evening even though there was room. We hate our travel agent.
Hillary is especially lovely because we returned to her home, she stopped cooking dinner and took us out to dinner and found exactly what I wanted to eat, garlic bread and spaghetti. Then put us up for another night.
I have been running in Central Park, and Hyde park. All of the important parks have been run in.
Our stupid restricted tickets didn’t allow us to upgrade, even though there were empty seats in first class begging to be sat in, so we spent the entire voyage in coach with some jerk’s arm drifting over my arm the entire time. I spent the entire trip wiggling around in order to keep his arm in his space. As Michelle so eloquently put it, get your own seat!
We are back in Seattle now.
